Our History

Dominion Education Consulting had its earliest roots in Atlanta, GA when the Founder and CEO, LaTasha Jones, Ph.D., attended Spelman College and tutored students within the Atlanta Public Schools (Atlanta, GA) and Muscogee County School District (Columbus, GA). Later, when Dr. Jones taught with the Atlanta Public Schools as a Teach For America Atlanta charter corps member, she noticed the distinct differences between the education of low-income students and middle and high income students.

Dr. Jones wanted to help level the playing field and make educational opportunities available to all students, regardless of their socioeconomic level. In doing this, she began an organization to help inform families reaching toward success.  To this end she began conducting workshops and seminars on how to get the best from your educational experience. Dominion Education Consulting was formalized in 2004 when Dr. Jones began to work with families and teachers in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (Charlotte, NC) as a doctoral student at the University of North Carolina.

Today, Dominion Education Consulting works with families, teachers, schools, and school districts to ensure that success is met on every end.
